Know where FeedHush will apply

FeedHush’s planned iPhone browser will filter approved sites inside FeedHush. It will not inject filters into Safari or native social apps. There is no public app or working social-site filtering today. FeedHush’s separate Screen Time features are not available for reliance either.

Use Apple’s family settings

Use the child’s own Apple Account in your Family Sharing group. Keep the Screen Time passcode and recovery access with the parent. Update devices and follow Apple’s instructions for the installed OS version and region; menu names and available controls vary.

Apple’s current guide places app download and installation settings under Settings → Family → your child → Apps & Websites → App Store. Review installing apps and related options. Older versions use different Screen Time menus. Also review alternative app distribution where available, app access, website rules and account-change restrictions.

Close and test other access paths

Review already installed social apps, Safari, other browsers and web apps; restricting future installation does not remove existing access. Configure the restrictions you need in Apple’s settings or a supported parental-control tool, then try them from the child’s device.

Do not assume a device-wide website block will permit that same website inside FeedHush. Test that distinction before allowing a social domain. When FeedHush becomes available, repeat this check with its actual browser.

Apple permission and FeedHush pairing are separate

A FeedHush parent account controls household settings. Apple’s Family Controls authorization permits separate OS capabilities. FeedHush cannot identify the Apple approver as the same person who owns the FeedHush parent account.

Apple distinguishes individual authorization from child authorization in Family Sharing. The latter can restrict normal app deletion and iCloud sign-out; individual authorization does not provide those same restrictions. This depends on the approved API, entitlements and real-device behavior. FeedHush has not completed that release verification.

Keep these states separate in your checks: Apple permission, FeedHush connection, current settings and active protection. One does not establish the others.
